App Store screenshot sizes in 2026 (Apple + Google, with a cheat sheet)

The current required screenshot sizes for the App Store and Google Play, why they change, and how to render every size from a single source file.

Every time Apple ships a new device, the App Store screenshot spec quietly moves. In 2026 the required screenshot sizes are:

iOS App Store (required in 2026)

  • iPhone 6.9" (15/16 Pro Max) — 1290×2796 or 2796×1290
  • iPhone 6.7" (14/15 Plus) — 1284×2778 or 2778×1284
  • iPhone 6.5" (11 Pro Max, XS Max) — 1242×2688 or 2688×1242
  • iPhone 5.5" (older) — 1242×2208 or 2208×1242
  • iPad 13" (M2/M4 Pro) — 2064×2752 or 2752×2064
  • iPad 12.9" — 2048×2732 or 2732×2048

Google Play (recommended in 2026)

  • Phone screenshots — 1080×1920 portrait (min), 3840×3840 max, 16:9 to 9:16
  • 7" tablet — 1200×1920 portrait
  • 10" tablet — 1600×2560 portrait
  • Feature graphic — 1024×500 (required)

The one-source workflow

Instead of resizing by hand, design once at the highest device resolution and let the tool render every smaller size. MockStage does this automatically — pick a template, drop your app UI in, and export every required size in one click.

Common mistakes reviewers flag

  1. Screenshots that don't reflect the actual in-app experience (Apple's 2.3.7 rejection).
  2. Text that's too small at the smaller device sizes.
  3. Legally required disclaimers cropped off at 16:9.
  4. Feature graphic (Google) missing entirely — automatic block.

Ship the six or seven required sizes on day one, and treat the smaller iPhone 5.5" size as optional only if your minimum iOS is 15+.
